USA, May 13 -- Can the Google Chromebooks really change the laptop forever? Google is set to find out after announcing their new computer during the annual Google I/O developer conference in San Francisco. As reviews come pouring in about the exact nature of this new laptop, and whether it's an iPad competitor or just simply a simplified connection to the Google cloud, one thing is clear - it's unlike anything we've seen before. And Google knows that.
Google has built their new Chromebooks around the concept that all anyone does these days is browse the Internet. The Chromebooks from Samsung and Acer might instantly connect users to Google's cloud services, but that's all they will do. That will make it easier for this notebook device to instantly connect users to their email, and will feature automatic Chrome updates.
To say the least, it's a unique concept. Whether everyone will accept it might be another story. The senior executive to Google revealed to Forbes that Google actually plans on pawning off the devices in a "student package" for $20 a month. Eventually, Google revealed in their blog that the Chromebooks for Business and Education to offer discounted laptops that instantly connect to the cloud. With the 3G service, the internet capability found on your phone would also be available wherever there was wifi access - making it pretty easy on college campuses.
Available online June 15, Chromebooks will most obviously be based in Chrome web browser - Google's flagship search engine that enables user to connect instantly to their friends through social media accounts and email accounts.
