NSW: Armed trio escape with money from hotel

SYDNEY, Aug 16 AAP - Two men armed with knives and metal bars escaped with money during
a robbery at an inner-western Sydney hotel.

The pair entered the premises on Evans Street at Rozelle about 11.55pm (AEST) yesterday,
police said.

The hotel was open at the time.

Police were told the men demanded money from staff before escaping with cash.

They fled in a Subaru Liberty station wagon driven by a third man and last seen on
Evans Street heading towards Dennison Street.

No one was injured during the robbery.

Leichhardt Local Area Command (LAC) and Forensic Armed Robbery Unit police attended the scene.

The men had their faces disguised during the robbery but witnesses describe them as
being of Pacific Islander appearance or similar.
