In the State of Sao Paulo, the Internet free access companies are responsible for the greatest part of Telefonica's IP (Internet Protocol) net use. Currently, the IP net register 3.2mil minutes of traffic per day, and most part of them come from the Internet free services rendered by companies like Bradesco, Unibanco, UOL, Terra, iG, and Super11. Telefonica is developing 100 projects for the IP net, and one third of them are dedicated to ISPs. The company soon will be serving 95% of the Internet users in the State of Sao Paulo, increasing the number of doorways, from 11.580 to 61,000. The IP net operates in 28 cities, but will pass to serve 102. Telefonica has already invested R$73mil in the IP net, and shall invest other R$300mil to expand its area, optimize and incorporate new technologies.
